Employee not visible on the scheduling board
Why new employees default to the bottom of the list and how to fix the sort order.
Why is my employee missing from the planboard?
If an employee does not appear on the scheduling board, the most common cause is their sort order setting.
The sort-order issue
New employees are created with a default sort order of 0. Internally, a sort order of 0 maps to the maximum integer value, which pushes the employee to the very bottom of the list — often below the visible area of the planboard.
How to fix it
- Navigate to Settings > Employees and select the affected employee.
- Set the sort order to a value greater than 0 (e.g. 1, 10, 100).
- Click Save and refresh the planboard.
Other things to check
- Employee status: make sure the employee is marked as active. Inactive employees are hidden from the planboard.
- Group membership: if you use employee groups on the planboard, the group's sort order overrides the individual setting. Verify the employee belongs to the correct group.
- Sort-by setting: the parameter
planbord_employee_sort_bycontrols how employees are ordered. Options includenumber,first_name,last_nameandorder. If set toorder, the manual sort value applies.
